May 2007, TVHS Newsletter, Volume 1, Issue 2
Class of '97 Reunion

This newsletter serves as an update and reminder regarding the "Class of '97 Reunion" reunion. Votes and email addresses are still outstanding and we need everyone’s opinions and preferences regarding our upcoming 10-yr reunion! Voting closes
15th June 2007. Planning will proceed with the responses received from this date.
Quick Summary
After meeting with
TVHS Principle (Mr. Southgate) and Deputy Principle (Ms. Cummings), they welcomed the idea of hosting the first ever "recognised" class reunion.

The Planning
Currently we have over 110 email addresses of our 180 fellow class mates. Send
Georgina, any past pupil emails so that we can update the contact database for future emails. Please Note: Reunion communications will ONLY be done via newsletter emails & our BLOG SITE .

Proposed Reunion Activities
The following activities are proposed for the Class of ’97 Reunion:

FIRST OPTION: Is a family-orientated, fun-filled Saturday, where the "Class of '97" past pupils can bring partners, parents, kids, grannies and even aunts and uncles.

The day will comprise of:
· A meet and greet at TVHS hall
· A trip down memory lane and walk through TVHS grounds
· An "old girls" Netball Match
· An "old boys" Rugby Match
· A catered braai on the Rugby Field grounds (after the match). Prices will be charged per head with
discount rate for kids.

SECOND OPTION: A hosted Saturday dinner/dance (formal or casual) at TVHS, which will feature catered foods and excellent music. Prices will vary upon attendance and will be charged on a per attendee basis.

Bare in mind that we can have a combination of these two options, and create a full day of events to recap the last ten years! The more we work together now the more we will be able to enjoy when the day finally comes! It's up to us to decide on how great we want to make this day.

We need your feedback on proposed dates (see below) and on proposed activities for the Reunion (select your preference for a Family-Fun Day or Dinner Dance or Combination of Both, with the number of people you expect to bring).

Class of '97 Reunion

Welcome to this 1st edition of the "Class of '97 Reunion" Newsletter. The aim of this Newsletter is to communicate the plans for our upcoming 10-yr reunion and gather feedback/responses from ALL of you on exactly what you would like YOUR reunion to be. So, let's get started . . .
The Meeting
After meeting with current
TVHS Principle (Mr. Southgate) and Deputy Principle (Ms. Cummings), they welcomed the idea of hosting the first ever "recognized" class reunion. We, the class of ‘97, have held true to the concept of being first! Not only will we be hosting the very first reunion recognized by TVHS, but we’ve also played a fundamental part in what TVHS has become today i.e. first year to have a 100% Matric pass rate and pioneers of changing the girls school uniform to allow wearing trousers.
The Planning
Currently we have 85 contact details of our 180 fellow class mates, thus we need to spread the word like wildfire! We recently emailed this newsletter and attached a list of class mates that we don’t have emails for. Please let
Georgina know whether you have contact details for any class mates, so we can update our database accordingly.
The Reunion
We have thought of ideas and taken advice from fellow bloggers from our
BLOG SITE and propose the following activities for the Reunion:

FIRST OPTION: Is a family-orientated, fun-filled Saturday, where the “Class of ‘97” past pupils can bring partners, parents, kids, grannies and even aunts and uncles.
The day will comprise of a:
  • A meet a greet at TVHS hall.

SECOND OPTION: A hosted dinner dance (formal or casual) at TVHS, which will feature catered foods and excellent music. Prices will vary upon attendance and will be charged on a per attendee basis.

Bare in mind that we can even have a combination of the two options, and create a full day of events to recap the last ten years!
The more we work together now the more we will be able to enjoy when the day finally comes! It’s up to us to decide on how great we want to make this day.
